Boats in the Bay Festival – Saturday 30th May 2026

Saturday 30th May 2026 - The Countdown is on!

Boats in the Bay is just around the corner, bringing a full day of maritime celebration, community activity and harbour-side fun to St Ives.

Taking place around the harbour and harbour beach from 11am, the festival celebrates the town’s rich fishing and seafaring heritage, with traditional vessels, community groups, family activities and entertainment throughout the day.

Visitors can explore stalls and community stands around the Band Stand while younger visitors can head to Harbour Beach where the Yonkers Youth Team will be running Fishes for Wishes and Build a Boat activities. Sam from St Ives Library will also be hosting children’s story time sessions during the day.

At 12 noon, Harbour Beach comes alive with a performance from the St Ives Arts Club Ukulele Collective, followed by the return of the ever-popular Tug of War competition for both adults and children. Teams are encouraged to get involved and enter the fun by contacting XXX.

The afternoon then turns to the water as the Festival Afloat begins at 3.30pm, with a spectacular parade of sail featuring heritage vessels and traditional boats filling St Ives Bay between 3.30pm and 6pm.

To round off the day, the excitement continues on Harbour Beach at 6pm with the return of traditional Scully Racing.

With activity both onshore and afloat, Boats in the Bay promises to be a fantastic day celebrating the harbour, the sea and the community spirit of St Ives.
