One of the (many) great things about playing golf is that no two courses are the same. Going on holiday is a great opportunity to try out new golf courses; St Ives has some beautifully situated golf clubs, which welcome visitors. Tee off at the following.
Tee off at the West Cornwall Golf Club overlooking St Ives Bay – West Cornwall Golf Club
West Cornwall Golf Club is a stunning links course on the Hayle Estuary at Lelant, just a short drive or branch line ride away from St Ives. Established in 1889, it’s Cornwall’s oldest golf course, and possibly one of its breeziest! Visitors to St Ives are more than welcome to enjoy this excellent course and club house, and it has a reputation for being friendly and welcoming. Contact the club to find out more.
Our 9 hole golf course overlooks St Ives Bay, and was voted one of the most scenic in the country. A round costs £10 and there are no tee times – simply pay at the Leisure Reception. The course is open from 8am and payment must be made before starting your game.
Round of golf – £10 (no tee times).
Club hire – £8. A £10 refundable deposit is also required (cash only), which will be given back to the player when clubs are returned after the game.

Away from the coast and juts a quick trip up the A30, Tehidy Park Golf Club near Camborne is another beautiful Cornish course. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the pretty woodland setting: and for the non-golfers in your family, nearby Tehidy Woods is a gorgeous place for a walk (and a cuppa).
Let’s face it – we’re not all Justin Rose. If you just fancy hitting a few balls in a more informal way, there’s an 18-hole mini golf course at St Ives’ Porthminster Beach. Right next to the sand and surrounded by sub-tropical plants, it’s a perfect little links course for families to enjoy together. Finish with fish and chips for a perfect seaside day out.
