  • Overview

Tucked away in the warmth of West Cornwall, Trengwainton is a garden like no other – a place where exotic plants first took root in British soil, brought to this country in the early part of the last century by Plant Collectors.

Today their legacy lives on in the prize-winning magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias that flourish here. In five sections of walled gardens, you’ll find an extraordinary collection of tender species from across the globe, while another five sections are planted up with fruit, herbs and cut flowers and contain unique sloping beds.

Meander through shady, tree-lined paths that gently rise to reveal a sunny terrace with far-reaching sea views across Mount’s Bay. On your way down, follow a tranquil stream garden, alive with seasonal colour and wildlife, and fringed by open meadows.

Trengwainton also has a café, gift shop, second-hand bookshop and plant centre. Dogs on leads are welcome to explore the gardens with you.
