A Celebration of a Remarkable Artistic Legacy
This major retrospective exhibition honours the life and work of a distinguished painter, educator, and writer who played a significant role in the artistic community. As a longstanding member and later chairman of the Penwith Society of Arts, he exhibited extensively at the Penwith Gallery, making it a fitting venue for this comprehensive showcase.
Now curated and managed by his family, the collection reflects decades of artistic evolution, revealing a dynamic and ever-changing style. Through dedicated research and curation, previously unseen works have been uncovered, offering fresh insight into a creative journey spanning over 60 years.
The exhibition traces his artistic development from early studies in Manchester and at the Slade, through formative friendships with influential artists, and into the abstract explorations of his time in Italy, Wales, and Reading. It then follows his return to realism, capturing Cornwall’s landscapes and his travels abroad.
This exhibition is a tribute to a visionary artist and an opportunity to rediscover the depth and diversity of his work.
